Product Overview
What is Dreamer?
Dreamer is an agent-based operating system designed to bring personal intelligence to everyone. Founded by Hugo Barra, David Singleton, and Nicholas Jitkoff, the platform lets users create and run intelligent software agents that automate tasks, connect personal and business data, and deliver rich interactive experiences — all through a conversational interface called Sidekick. Agents live in the cloud, run continuously in the background, and are accessible across desktop, mobile, and browser. The platform is structured like an OS: Sidekick serves as the kernel, agents as user-space applications, and tools as device drivers that connect to external services and data sources.
Key Features
Sidekick — Your Agent Builder
A conversational system agent that builds, edits, and orchestrates all other agents on your behalf. Just describe what you want in plain language — Sidekick handles the rest, from writing code to connecting tools and previewing results.
Composable Agent Architecture
Agents expose functions that can be called by other agents or by Sidekick, enabling powerful cross-agent workflows. For example, a Recipe agent and a Grocery List agent can work together seamlessly when triggered by a single user request.
Extensible Tool Ecosystem
Built-in tools cover speech recognition, image generation, real-time data (sports, transit, showtimes), and integrations with Google Workspace, GitHub, Linear, and more. Developers can also build and publish custom tools to the community gallery.
Cross-Device & Multi-Surface Access
Dreamer runs on web (Windows, Mac, Linux), iOS (Android coming soon), Chrome extension, and email. Agent widgets can be pinned to mobile home screens and accessed like native apps.
Persistent Memory & Context
Sidekick accumulates memory about you over time, enabling agents to personalize behavior without repeated onboarding. Memory is fully inspectable, editable, and privately scoped — agents access only what they need.
Gallery, Remixing & Community
Browse and install community-built agents from the Gallery, then remix any agent with Sidekick's help to fit your own workflow. Builders earn platform credits when their agents are used or featured.
Use Cases
- Personal Task Automation : Automate repetitive daily tasks like organizing school emails, managing grocery lists, or scheduling calendar events — agents run in the background and notify you only when needed.
- Custom News & Information Feeds : Build a personalized news agent that scours sources every morning and delivers a curated audio summary directly to your podcast app or phone home screen.
- Business Workflow Integration : Connect agents to tools like GitHub, Linear, Google Workspace, or CRM systems to automate issue tracking, meeting prep, and pipeline management without writing code.
- Creative & Media Production : Use built-in image generation, text-to-speech, and media tools to build agents that produce visual content, audio digests, animated storybooks, or even 3D environments.
- Non-Technical App Building : Anyone — regardless of coding experience — can build functional, cross-device software agents simply by chatting with Sidekick, making personal software genuinely accessible for the first time.
