What is Speko?

Speko preview

Speko is a developer platform for production voice agents. It provides a hosted router that unifies speech-to-text, language model, and text-to-speech providers behind a single API, selecting providers based on language, latency, cost, and availability. Speko also offers managed voice agents for browser and phone deployments, an open-source gateway for provider-direct workloads, SDKs for TypeScript and Python, and MCP tools for agent-assisted development and operations.

Key Features

  • Multi-Provider Voice Routing

Routes STT, LLM, and TTS requests through a unified API, allowing applications to use multiple voice providers without maintaining separate integrations.

  • Benchmark-Based Model Selection

Uses language-specific benchmarks for accuracy, latency, and pricing to select suitable speech and voice models for each workload.

  • Automatic Failover

Retries requests with alternative providers when a primary provider fails, helping voice applications remain available during service disruptions.

  • Managed Voice Agents

Lets teams configure reusable voice agents with prompts, voices, tools, knowledge sources, routing preferences, and deployment settings.

  • Browser and Telephony Deployment

Supports running the same voice agent in browser-based conversations as well as inbound and outbound phone calls.

  • Developer Integrations

Provides TypeScript, Python, browser, and LiveKit SDKs, plus MCP support for building, testing, deploying, and inspecting voice agents.

Use Cases

  • Customer Support Voice Agents : Build phone or web voice assistants that answer customer questions, access knowledge sources, transfer calls, and record interaction outcomes.
  • Multilingual Voice Products : Deliver speech experiences across languages while routing requests to models that perform well for each target language.
  • Voice Provider Reliability : Reduce dependency on a single STT, LLM, or TTS vendor by using routing and failover across supported providers.
  • Voice Agent Prototyping : Launch and evaluate conversational voice agents quickly using managed configuration, SDKs, and prebuilt integrations.
  • Private Voice Infrastructure : Run provider-direct streaming workloads with the Gateway while retaining control of credentials and media flows.
  • Agent-Assisted Voice Development : Use MCP-compatible coding tools to create, deploy, test, and manage voice agents from AI development environments.
