What is Hypit?
Hypit gives coding agents like Claude Code and Codex a structured language for producing video, rather than a single black-box generation call. Feed it a reference video, template, or plain-text brief, and the agent reconstructs the underlying production logic: narrative, speakers, footage, captions, B-roll, and effects, all anchored to words instead of timestamps. The output is an editable project the agent can keep refining and recompiling, not a one-off export. Hypit is free and open source, works with bring-your-own-key model access or the Hypit API, and can render captions and motion graphics without calling any model at all, so a finished clip can cost as little as zero dollars.
