What is Design Arena?

Design Arena is a benchmarking platform that evaluates AI-generated design outputs through anonymous head-to-head voting by a global community of users. Founded by Harvard graduates and part of Y Combinator's Summer 2025 batch, the platform addresses a critical gap in AI evaluation by measuring design quality, aesthetics, and usability rather than just technical capabilities. Users submit design prompts and receive outputs from multiple AI models, then vote on their preferred results. These votes feed into a Bradley-Terry rating algorithm that produces transparent, publicly accessible leaderboards ranking models like OpenAI, Anthropic, Qwen, v0, Lovable, and Bolt across various creative and technical domains.
