What is BAND?

BAND preview

BAND is an infrastructure platform that provides a shared operational layer for distributed AI agents and human teams. It enables agents built on different frameworks like LangGraph, CrewAI, Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, and Pydantic AI to discover each other, exchange context, delegate tasks, and collaborate in real time without changing how they run. The platform features a two-layer architecture consisting of an Agentic Mesh for agent interaction and a Control Plane for governance, visibility, and authority enforcement. BAND keeps agents' existing runtime, prompts, tools, and LLM providers while adding persistent identity, multi-agent coordination, structured memory, and a unified audit trail.

Key Features

  • Multi-Agent Coordination

Enables agents across different frameworks, languages, and runtimes to discover peers, exchange context, delegate tasks, and collaborate in shared chat rooms without manual point-to-point wiring.

  • Persistent Identity & Memory

Gives agents durable identity and structured memory across sessions, allowing them to re-hydrate state and continue work after interruptions.

  • Built-In Governance & Observability

Control Plane provides runtime visibility, authority enforcement, policy-driven governance, and conversation-based audit trails for enterprise compliance and troubleshooting.

  • Framework-Agnostic Integrations

Connects agents from LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, Anthropic, Pydantic AI, n8n, Letta, and custom agents through the same SDKs and APIs.

  • Human-In-The-Loop Workflows

Treats humans as first-class participants in conversations, enabling teams to inspect, approve, or intervene in agent workflows naturally.

Use Cases

  • Multi-Agent Coding Team : Ship Planner, Engineer, and Reviewer agents that collaborate on software tasks locally, sharing a mounted workspace and coordinating through Band rooms with different LLMs.
  • Personal AI Assistants : Run multiple personal AI assistant instances across devices or households, connecting them to Band so they can collaborate while keeping data and runtime isolated.
  • IDE-Integrated Workflow : Connect IDEs like Zed, Cursor, or JetBrains to multiple Band agents via ACP, enabling Code Review and Documentation agents to collaborate analyzing diffs and updating docs together.
  • Enterprise Agent Governance : Engineering and platform teams running multi-agent pipelines for coding, research, or regulated workflows can maintain traceability, control, and compliance across agent interactions.
